When Inner Layers Meet Another's Stillness
The pace at which days pass is too rapid to fully grasp. Rather than trying to hold on to the flow of time, I choose to quietly take in each day as it unfolds. Although we often speak of days simply passing by, the scenes we witness and the experiences we encounter do not easily disappear. They settle deep within, accumulating over time. These layers of sensation remain dormant in everyday life, only to resurface unexpectedly when prompted by a particular scene, object, or familiar situation.
The moment these accumulated sensations encounter the outside world, an invisible current emerges between them. What appears before us is no longer merely a physical object, but something shaped by emotions that have long drifted beneath the surface. This is why even the most ordinary landscapes can leave a lasting impression and continue to linger in memory. Such a way of seeing extends beyond observation. It becomes a language of emotion that resists verbal description, bridging the distance between subject and object.
This exhibition is an attempt to examine how these quietly accumulated emotional residues might exist when they encounter the gaze of others. Since 2025, I have gradually moved away from my previous working methods and begun approaching everyday life through a more direct and intuitive gaze. The painting is not a site for the faithful depiction of a particular scene, but a space in which intervals, densities, and flows generated by emotional textures can emerge.
